RAD is really all about how you can get yourself to exercise and eat smart . . . to win the race against diabetes.

"Diabetics have a solemn duty: we must save our families and friends from diabetes, from dying in misery from diabetes or watching us die in misery. And we can."

--RAD co-founder Terry

Stubborn Old Guys and Diabetes

T contemplativeRAD’s Chief Pontificator has a lot of first-person knowledge about Stubborn Old Guys and Diabetes.  We stubborn old guys just don’t want to have to deal with it–we’re gonna do what we do and get what we get.

How do you get through to us, when you’re the one who’s going to watch us lose our toes and then our feet and then . . . ?  It’s not easy–we’re stubborn old guys.

P and T on trainersWhat can get through to us–at least some of us–is a good sit-down, preferably with lots of crying, telling us how much you love us and how bad it’s hurting you to watch us lose our feet.  That, coupled with setting up two exercise bikes in front of the TV and riding on yours during all those football games, is about all you can do.
